Two hearts beat as one in this vivid representation of Ireland’s greatest true love story.  The twin heart soulmate Claddagh centerpiece is composed of two heritage green emeralds with a combined weight of 0.40 carats. Three pairs of matching brilliant cut diamonds adorn the 14-karat gold friendship hands and loyalty crown with a combined carat weight of 0.06 carats.

We also offer this exquisite Irish Claddagh ring in luxurious 14-karat white gold.

Soulmate Hearts Overcome All Obstacles to Join Together as One

Richard Joyce set out from Ireland in 1675 to make his fortune in the faraway British West Indies, intending to return home one day to marry his childhood sweetheart.  A Barbary pirate ship intercepted his vessel en route, and he, along with all passengers and crew, was sold into slavery on the African north coast. His new owner saw his keen eye for detail and steady hand and wisely apprenticed him as a goldsmith and jeweler.

Richard spent the next 14 years perfecting his craft but never gave up on his dream of returning home to Galway and the lover he left behind. In 1689, his dream came true. His former master offered him half his wealth and his daughter's hand in marriage if he would stay, but the devoted lover did not hesitate to make the long journey home.

Richard created the very first Claddagh ring, choosing the heart to represent undying love, the hands, the friendship that underpins every great romance, and the crown, the loyalty that brought him home to his one true love and future wife once more.
